OUR STORY
After spending many years as a Missionary and Senior Pastor in Tanzania, My wife and I heard the call from the Lord to return home to Kenya. From obedience to the Lord, in 2005, we moved back to Kenya and were led to plant a church Kitengela.
As soon as we moved to Kitengela, we hit the ground running with doors to doors evangelism. We shared the word, encouraged and prayed for the needs of the families that we met. However from our evangelism effort, we noted that a lot of the families were really struggling to meet the basic needs.
One day, we came across a widow whom husband died of
HIV/Aids. She was left alone, rejected with no resource at all to take
care of her 6 children. She told us that the kids have not had any bite
for quite some days. Looking at the children, my heart sunk I could not
resist, and I knew I have to do something.
With the little funding
that we had at the church and the support of few generous brothers and
sisters, we started a feeding program, providing a meal per day for the
orphans and destitute kids in the community.
Soon before we knew
it, the Lord led us to expand our vision from a small feeding program to
a full functional orphanage where we provide shelter, scholarship
funding as well as discipleship.
Now we are slowly realizing
the reason why the Lord called us to move back home. My wife and I are
very humble and privilege to be used by the Lord in this way. We love
the kids and very excited to see what the Lord has in store for us and
the orphanage in the upcoming years.
